Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally as well as in India. The rate of breast cancer in India has increased 39.1 per cent from 1990 to 2016. An estimated number of patients with breast cancer in 2016 was 5.26 lakh. Breast cancer is the first or second leading cause of death among women in 28 Indian states.
